Tajumulco Volcano is the highest volcano in all Central America. It has two peaks, the higher peak reaches 4,220m (13,845 ft) and has a crater 50m (160 ft) in diameter. The volcano is located in the town of the same name Tajumulco in San Marcos, Guatemala.

How to get to Tajumulco Volcano

Take a public bus from Guatemala City direct to San Marcos, taking the CA1 road, and you'll reach San Marcos main city. At this point don't go anywhere because you just go out from the Guatemala City bus and you get in to the next bus that it'll take you to San Sebastian. You'll only say bus to San Sebastian to the assistant of the bus driver, he'll take you to the right bus.

The road goes up a little bit and you'll reach to the main city of San Sebastian, now you must stay at the main city of San Sebastian, this is the point where you start your ascent and where we will be waiting for you at this point and we take you to the top of the Tajumulco Volcano and I swear it'll be the adventure of your life.

The complete ride is about 7 hours from Guatemala City to San Sebastian. Adventure and adrenaline will be the good thing you'll get in this trip. It's easy come here I promise that you will not lose during the trip.

*This cost include 1 to 3 days depends how much time you want stay at the top of the volcano and we take you in car from San Sebastian to the slopes of the volcan and at this point we start walking to the top of the volcano, we'll only walk 2 hours going to the top of the volcano walking slowly. We'll take you in the shortest and easy way. And if necessary, we can give you a night to sleep in a safe house-close to the slopes of the volcano. So you'll be safe with us. This cost don't iclude food and water, we'll buy all the food and water needed in San Sebastian depends how much time you'll be on the top of the volcano, You will pay your own food and water needed of the trip. This means no more than US$15 expended in food, we'll pay in Quetzales that's why it's a low price and we're going to have all the food and water needed for the trip.
